御前崎港客船誘致協議会とは

御前崎港客船誘致協議会は、御前崎港における客船文化の創造を図り、御前崎港の新たな魅力の発信と周辺地域と一体となった地域振興及び観光振興に寄与することを目的に平成28年に設立されました。御前崎市と牧之原市が中心となり、国・県及び本協議会の設立趣旨に賛同する者等から構成されています。

近年のアジアにおけるクルーズ需要の増大を背景に、我が国への外航クルーズ船の寄港数は、今後大幅な増加が見込まれています。クルーズ客船が寄港する港湾においては、「海からの訪問者」を数多く迎えることにより、港湾地域における観光の振興と港湾の活性化に果たす役割が強く期待されています。

御前崎港においても、みなとオアシス御前崎の登録などを好機ととらえ、積極的に国内外のクルーズ客船を誘致し、観光客の増加、インバウンド観光の推進、さらに、地元の経済効果の拡大を図るため、クルーズ振興を進めています。

The Omaezaki Port Passenger Ship Invitation Council was founded in 2016 with the objectives of creating a culture of passenger ships in Omaezaki Port, promoting the port’s new attractions, and contributing to regional development and tourism promotion in cooperation with the surrounding communities.　The Council is led by Omaezaki City and Makinohara City, and consists of members from the national and prefectural governments, as well as those who share its founding objectives.

With the recent increase in demand for cruises in Asia, the number of calls to Japan by ocean-going cruise ships is expected to increase significantly in the future. There are great expectations that, by welcoming these “visitors from the sea,” ports and harbors that receive cruise ships can help in promoting tourism and revitalizing port communities.

Omaezaki Port also sees the registration of Minato Oasis Omaezaki as an opportunity to actively draw in domestic and foreign cruise ships. As such, it is promoting cruises as a way to increase the number of visitors, drive tourism from overseas, and enhance the economic benefits to the local area.
