勝間田城跡

Katsumata Castle Ruins

かつてこの地を治めていた豪族、勝間田氏が15世紀中頃に築城したとされる戦国時代以前の原型を残した貴重な山城。牧之原台地に連なる尾根に築かれ、敵の侵入を防ぐ堀切や土塁などの縄張りが特徴となっています。

The Katsumata clan, a powerful family that once ruled the area, is said to have built the castle in the middle of the 15th century, and it is a valuable mountain castle that retains its original form from before the Sengoku period. Built on a ridge that runs along the Makinohara plateau, the castle is characterized by its moat and earthen mounds that prevent enemies from entering.
