Ikemiya Shrine / Sakuragaike Pond

遠州七不思議の一つ「龍神伝説」ゆかりの桜ヶ池は、桜の名所としても知られ、池のほとりには由緒ある池宮神社があります。秋のお彼岸の中日には、赤飯を詰めたお櫃を池に沈める「お櫃納め」の神事が行われます。

Sakuragaike Pond, which is associated with the legend of the Dragon God, one of the Seven Wonders of Enshu, is known as a famous spot for cherry blossom viewing. Nearby is the historic Ikemiya Shrine. On the day of the autumn equinox, a ritual called “Ohitsu Osame” is held, in which a rice chest filled with red rice is submerged in the pond.
